Aux services du « National Geographic » depuis plus de 20 ans, le photographe Raymond Gehman traduit l'ordinaire comme l'étonnant avec beaucoup d'élégance. Il se souvient de la rencontre déterminante avec un photographe du « National Geographic » venu visiter son école quand il avait neuf ans. Il a su depuis ce jour là qu'il voulait devenir photographe lui aussi. La photographie est à ses yeux un art et un média à part dans la mesure où chacun voit le monde différemment. Il prend un plaisir particulier à donner une place aux petits détails étranges dans ses photos. Gehman vit à Waynesboro dans l'état de Pennsylvanie aux Etats-Unis. Outre ses propres réalisations, il participe à des conférences et à des concours de photographie en tant que juge.
